Established in 1985, CHAP, Inc. has helped hundreds of high school and college student/athletes manage their hectic and often stressful lives by providing helpful information, services, and resources. CHAP, Inc. is staffed by professionals in the fields of sportsmassage, (CHAP's founder is a nationally-recognized sportsmassage therapist and was a member of the 1996 Summer Olympic Sportsmassage Team) nutrition, strength conditioning, exercise physiology, career counseling and sport psychology.
CHAP staff believe that the serious student/athlete - not the one who just shows up to add a line to a yearbook page - needs and wants good advise and counseling when it comes to help in improving sports and academic performance. For the serious student/athlete, these two factors are tied together. Chap recognizes this and provides a variety of assistance. We've been helping student/athletes realize their goals for achieving their personal best, which at the same time, helping their team and school.
In 1995, CHAP, Inc. established the Student/Athlete Educational Foundation, Inc., a non-profit component of the Center for Health & Athletic Performance, Inc. (CHAP). The Student/Athlete Educational Foundation sponsors a variety of programs for student/athletes including this Resource Center, The Coaching Coach, a newsletter for athletic directors and coaches, hosts conditioning camps, designs and implements conditioning programs for teams and clinics and provides "Student/Athlete Nights."
The Student/Athlete Resource Center is dedicated to providing valuable and useful information, resources, and programs on behalf of high school student/athletes, their coaches, parents and others who support them as they participate in both academics and athletics.
The Student/Athlete Resource Center is a free resource center for high schools anywhere in the world. While the site is free, a registration is required. (see below)
The Student/Athlete Resource Center is designed as a series of "rooms." Each room houses lots of useful information and resources. Among the various rooms are:
Other rooms include the News Room with an on-line electronic magazine published monthly, the Resource Room with financial aid, college search programs, and other resources listed, and the Bookstore, where thousands of useful books, journals, and resources can be reviewed and ordered.
If, for some weird reason, your school has chosen not to register, you may register as an individual by completing the on-line registration found HERE.
